New conditions for extending a residence permit in Turkey in 2024

From mid-April 2024, for the procedure for extending a residence permit, you must have a UETS certificate (registered address in the national electronic notification system).

The procedure for obtaining UETS includes registering an address in the electronic notification system and receiving a supporting document, which must be submitted to the migration service on the day of submitting the application for renewal of the residence permit.


How to get UETS?

UETS can be obtained in two ways:

1. At the Post Office (PTT): Go to the post office and fill out a simple form. You need to have an ikamet, a Turkish phone number and an email address with you.

2. Online, using the e-Devlet application:

First you need to activate two-step authentication in e-Devlet:

  • Visit the website turkiye.gov.tr
  • Go to the e-Devlet tab
  • Go to the section "Güvenlik ve Ayarlar" (Security and Settings)
  • Select "İki Ağamali Giriş İşlemleri" (Two-step authentication)
  • Change status to "Aktif" (Active)
  • Select a confirmation method: by phone number or e-mail.

After this, get help:

  • Go to the website ptt.etebligat.gov.tr
  • Select login via e-Devlet
  • Fill out the registration form
  • Write your address, phone number, email address, and profession
  • Click on the logo next to the name
  • Select the column "Hesap bilgileri" (Account information)
  • Click "Sözleşmeler" (Contracts)
  • Click "Bilgileri Yazdır" (Print information) and download the document.
